Gone Grey

The 17th of April is a memorable day for me, a day when days and nights of hard work was made a success. The premiere of my movie Gone Grey was a success, was a hit back to back (I had to use that biko 'cos I've never had the opportunity to use "back to back"). I thank everyone who came through for me. Those who travelled all the way just to show their support: Mama T, I owe you big time, despite your busy schedule and the run around for your wedding, you still made it through to show a sister some love, God bless you big. Gone Grey premiere was on a Sunday, I had little worry over the turn out because a lot of people are always engaged in church meetings and all on Sundays but I was blown away by the number of people who showed up.
In one way or the other, my friends showed support in different ways: Temmzy, Ganiu, Chival just to mention a few whose services were extremely used. To Elo, who never trades her Sundays for anything, you made it there and in time, thank you honey.‎
To my family, my colleagues, NOUN coursemates, the PRESS who were up and about, you were all awesome from start to finish.
I enjoyed the moment during screening, the laughter, the applause, it was super cool. The character "Boj" blew everyone's mind, I loved the feed back I got after screening. Thanks to the bloggers who showed up especially Reshayo of Funtaqa and the movie critic who came through.
To friends and family who also showed their support financially and otherwise but couldn't make it, I totally appreciate everyone and I say a very big thank you. Pictures say it all, it became colourful with a touch of LOJ Photography, he sure knows how to use the cameras and ofcourse to Tola of Fabulous Adiva Stitches for my lovely dress, my Make Up by the glam Miss Onyi of Chocolate Artistry. You guys were wonderful.
To Kevin O, for the prayers, my Bamboo Shoes, purse, watch, *laughs* you actually  styled me. Thank you plenty plenty for your immense support and constructive criticism.
To the cast and crew of Gone Grey, what more can I say, THANK YOU. GOD bless the director of this movie, God bless Hunters Media (my co producer)‎

A Better Morning

A brighter morning. Good night but a better morning. Another day, another week to grind. In the midst of the confusion or disappointments of last week, we are charged to move out with more energy that we have ever had to put in. ‎
To that one person who believes in himself but still gets discourages because of low financial status, discouraging words from friends and frenemies....Stand tall, God has given you another day, another reason to live and fulfil your dreams, you're responsible for your actions. Always remember that a lot of people discourage others because they can't breed good ideas like yours, they're just jealous, they are enemies of progress. You owe yourself some level of happiness.
Make it a point of duty to create new ideas, take chances, make a move, but in all of these: "Put all your plans in God's hands, Trust in Him and watch Him work wonders"...He remains God.
Beautiful lovelies. God bless our hustle.‎

Happy day after exams

We finally dropped the pen and paper, no more late night study for now ooooo, because I know some of us will be applying for PhD soonest, ehen so in the mean time let us reminisce on the MSC days.

It was wonderful having the crew as course mates, from OmoOba to Diamond to Atere, the Photographer, Mr Charles' jewel, pretty Loretta, fine boy Yinka, Captain Yemi, Babs, Patrick, and the rest. I loved the chat room, the arguments, the laughter, the jokes, the seriousness that comes in, the guide, it was so much fun. We may not have seen for a long period of time but it was a great union every time. I can call them Family. I also appreciate the support. If you don't have course mates like them, you need to re-enroll again or better still apply to have them, they're not just funny, they are BRAINS.

The last day which was just couple of days ago was filled with joy, though I would have loved to see them the next day but because I know it will entail reading for another paper, MBA, our bye byes were better that last day. No more paper.

Oh, I forgot to add the moments of jollof rice, sausage roll, coke.....i love food sha. We ddid not leave the premises without the touch of LOJ Photography, the magical hands.

After the break......

Good morning mummy's and daddy's, boys and girls. How have you been? It's been forever. I apologise for my absence. I am finally through with my M.Sc exams and so I am free from school at least for now.

Been forever since I visited my own blog or even dropped an ink. As exams are through, serious preparations for my premiere has started as it is set to be premiered this Sunday the 17th of April at Film House, Surulere. I am sincerely grateful to all those who have supported especially my coursemates, God bless you abundantly.

I am also excited about the news I got yesterday in regards to the release date of my movie- Gone Grey which will be shown across Nigeria from the 10th of June. Things just seem to fall in pleasant places from this movie, it only shows that people are watching and the next should be better than this.

The Flaccid Truth: Erectile Dysfunction ( E.D) by Doc Izu - THE CLINIC

Lets talk about every mans nightmare the evil called erectile dysfunction , which can be simply said to be inability to achieve or maintain a penile erection for satisfactory sexual activity .It is different from premature ejaculation which is the release of semen during intercourse earlier than the man or his partner would want. E.D causes substantial negative impact on relationships {every lady loves a stud},affects quality of life and low esteem in affected individuals.

The mechanisms of achieving  penile erection depends mainly on adequate blood supply, testosterone levels, nerve supply to the penis {nitrogen oxide pathway} and one's psychological state.

A lot of discussions have taken place about E.D so lets continue by stating some facts and dispensing some myth‎

FACTS

  • Erectile dysfunction is common in older men
  •  Bicycling and long distance drivers suffer from E.D alot {this is due to prolonged compression of blood vessels and the lower spinal nerves}
  •  Caffeine helps prevent E.D {increases the heart rate which in turn increases blood supply to the organs}

MYTH

 Refined sugar especially in carbonated drinks and pastry is the primary cause of E.D {so except you are an athelete or you exercise often which most of us dont including myself , to burn excess sugars, excessive intake of refined sugars in form of soda/carbonated drinks can lead to conditions which can cause E.D eg diabetes mellitus, metabolic syndrome, hypertension so cut down on the sugar}
 E.D is not treatable  { it is totally treatable , someone shout ALLELUYA}
The major cause of E.D is psychological stress especially in younger men mainly due to stress and performance anxiety, other  risk factors of E.D include:

  •  Aging especially in older men 60years and above
  •  Medications{anticonvulsants,antidepressants,nicotine,chemotherapy}
  • Medical conditions like diabetes mellitus,hypertension,kidney failure
  • Lifestyle especially smoking which causes narrowing of the blood vessels
  • Wearing tight fitting briefs this causes reduction of blood supply to the penis
  •  Use of illicit drugs eg alcohol, cocaine, marijuana etc
  •  Obesity and sedentary lifestyle

            Treatment modalities would include :

  •  Exercise especially aerobic exercises also men who experience E.D should practice kegel exercises regularly
  •  Cessation of smoking ciggarettes,use of illicit drugs and redution in alcohol intake
  • Treating underlying medical conditions.
  •  Drug therapy with phosphodiesterase type 5 {calm down your doctor would explain better}
  •  Intrapenile injections
  • Use of vaccum penile pumps
  • Use of inflatable penile pumps
  • surgical intervention

Also intake of fruits especially water melons and bananas are beneficial in managing E.D  ,also cardio protective foods like garlic and ginger are highly recommended.
80 percent of men with E.D have psychological reasons as a basis of their condition so for this group it is pertinent to remove the negative psychological factors by talking to a therapist ,gping for massages. For those with performance anxiety, foreplay is key ,this gives time to relax and be calm also talking to your partner also helps allay the anxiety .

N.B: the purpose of this is to bring awareness to the condition and also show available treatment modalities. Self medication is not advisable so forgive me for not metioning specific drugs.

Remember every drug is a potential poison and has its own side effects. For further discussion on this subject pls feel free to contact me via email IZOID86@GMAIL.COM.

Feel free to ask questions and add tips in the comment section.

YOURS SINCERELY
Dr Izu

The Family.....

Hope we all went to church or at least preparing to go or almost there??? It's the Palm Sunday, my catholic readers should know this. May this lent period cleanse us and make us achieve all we desire that is of the Lord.

I realised I haven't posted some pictures of my family ever since I got them. A stroll to the Ajagbe's on New Year's Eve and we thought to disturb the peace of the neighbourhood by playing with the camera. In the pictures, you'd see two strong warriors by my side, lol and the only farmer we have in the family.

Check out our mini family photo shoot:
