Say a prayer for the people of Nimbo

Sadly, about 40 persons have been reportedly killed by some Fulani herdsmen at Nimbo in Uzo-uwani Local Govt Area of Enugu State. There has been lots of speculation about the incident, no fewer than 500 herdsmen sneaked into the community prepared to launch an attack.

About seven villages in Nimbo, Ugwuijoro, Ekwuru, Ebor, Enugu Nimbo, Umuome and Ugwuachara were among the areas attacked.‎

Ten residential houses and a church, Christ Holy Church International, aka Odozi Obodo, we're also said to have been buurnt by the herdsmen just as vehicles and motorcycles were destroyed and domestic animals killed.

Villagers and other residents of the area were fleeing the town as at yesterday.

This is a national issue and we hope the government and those in authority would look into this and put a stop to this issue, because we have heard about these killings especially in Enugu before, villagers and residents of the area can attest to this fact.

But one question is, what must have prompted this attack that claimed these number of lives???

May God help the people of Nimbo and other affected villages and may the souls of those killed in this attack rest in peace.

Say a prayer for the people of Nimbo.

Nkeiruka Bright Akparuorji is a hard-working, creative and tireless young lady who ventures in almost everything. She is a strong lady who knows that in all you do, you must put God first. As young as she is, I admire her strength and love her passion for entrepreneurship.
You should hear her sing or be in her drama mood, she lightens up the place and puts up a serious face each time (not sure why she does that, lol). She has a good sense of fashion and pulls off anything and everything well.

God bless her.

UNN FASHION WEEK

*yipee* I will be a special guest at the UNN fashion week, super cool going back to the Den, lol as a proud Lion. 28th May is the day, just two days after my birthday at the Ekpo ref. I can't wait to
meet with the young designers and ofcourse my colleague Lorenzo d'sugar Menakaya.

Thanks to the organisers, keep up with the good work, who knows one day it would go beyond UNN. I'm proud to be part of this debut show. Hard work pays indeed.

All things bright and beautiful....

Good morning Fam, yet another day to start right. Drop the pain of yesterday, the anger, the past, let your heart be filled with peace and happiness. The devil must have tried to steal your joy yesterday, but be bold enough to take back your peace. Nothing as good as being free. As humans, sometimes we remember the hurt of yesterday, the pain a loved one must have put us through, Yes it is only human that we think of or about it, but holding on to it, is one thing we need to fight. Bruise for some minutes, but be fast to let it go, drop the pain, think of the good, think of the fact that you also must have hurt a person. It's easier said than done but it is possible, it is achievable.

If you're lucky to fight this, if you're lucky to let go of the past, you have succeeded to gain freedom, you've succeeded to gain peace of mind. Give it a try today and see how light you become. You'd eventually see how things are bright and beautiful.

Smile through it, forgive your past, forgive the hurt, let go of the pain. No one is perfect.

Meet our MCM, Michael Oluwatobiloba

Meet Akinnike Michael Oluwatobiloba

"At age of 16 I lost my father and eventually I lost hope in a better life. Back then, I made few mistakes but then decided to redirect my life and add a value to my community. I sponsored myself through school working with local artisans on construction sites and doing all kinds of menial jobs. Though I had many concerns in my life like bringing food on the table, I always had time to community service. I decided that I will help so many African young adult to find themselves and start taking responsibility for local problems in their community. I am currently the founder of Young Protégé Leadership Academy, an organization aimed at raising trans-generational leaders to bring about socio-economic development and growth in Africa using education and mentorship".
Tobi is a young entrepreneur, whose passion towards raising exceptional trans-generational leaders that will turn Africa around led him to be trained and equipped nationally and internationally by the Bureau of International Program, U.S Department of State, Daystar Leadership Academy and TECHCAMP West-Africa.
Tobi has designed and managed the implementation of social development projects targeted at motivating, educating and inspiring young leaders in Nigeria; especially in marginalized communities such as slums and hard-to-reach communities in Nigeria. He developed the first African leadership paper board game called Protégé LEAD game that as touched over 2500 lives and also created the protégé mobile app 1.0 which is on googleplay to educate young adults about civic and leadership education.
Just few days ago he met with the Vice President of Nigeria and he presented his Protégé LEAD game to him.

Gone Grey

The 17th of April is a memorable day for me, a day when days and nights of hard work was made a success. The premiere of my movie Gone Grey was a success, was a hit back to back (I had to use that biko 'cos I've never had the opportunity to use "back to back"). I thank everyone who came through for me. Those who travelled all the way just to show their support: Mama T, I owe you big time, despite your busy schedule and the run around for your wedding, you still made it through to show a sister some love, God bless you big. Gone Grey premiere was on a Sunday, I had little worry over the turn out because a lot of people are always engaged in church meetings and all on Sundays but I was blown away by the number of people who showed up.
In one way or the other, my friends showed support in different ways: Temmzy, Ganiu, Chival just to mention a few whose services were extremely used. To Elo, who never trades her Sundays for anything, you made it there and in time, thank you honey.‎
To my family, my colleagues, NOUN coursemates, the PRESS who were up and about, you were all awesome from start to finish.
I enjoyed the moment during screening, the laughter, the applause, it was super cool. The character "Boj" blew everyone's mind, I loved the feed back I got after screening. Thanks to the bloggers who showed up especially Reshayo of Funtaqa and the movie critic who came through.
To friends and family who also showed their support financially and otherwise but couldn't make it, I totally appreciate everyone and I say a very big thank you. Pictures say it all, it became colourful with a touch of LOJ Photography, he sure knows how to use the cameras and ofcourse to Tola of Fabulous Adiva Stitches for my lovely dress, my Make Up by the glam Miss Onyi of Chocolate Artistry. You guys were wonderful.
To Kevin O, for the prayers, my Bamboo Shoes, purse, watch, *laughs* you actually  styled me. Thank you plenty plenty for your immense support and constructive criticism.
To the cast and crew of Gone Grey, what more can I say, THANK YOU. GOD bless the director of this movie, God bless Hunters Media (my co producer)‎

A Better Morning

A brighter morning. Good night but a better morning. Another day, another week to grind. In the midst of the confusion or disappointments of last week, we are charged to move out with more energy that we have ever had to put in. ‎
To that one person who believes in himself but still gets discourages because of low financial status, discouraging words from friends and frenemies....Stand tall, God has given you another day, another reason to live and fulfil your dreams, you're responsible for your actions. Always remember that a lot of people discourage others because they can't breed good ideas like yours, they're just jealous, they are enemies of progress. You owe yourself some level of happiness.
Make it a point of duty to create new ideas, take chances, make a move, but in all of these: "Put all your plans in God's hands, Trust in Him and watch Him work wonders"...He remains God.
Beautiful lovelies. God bless our hustle.‎
