Proposal ideas...

The story of how you proposed will be told to friends and strangers for the rest of your lives. So it's best to put out your creativity and seek for ideas too.

Guys, biko before you set out to engage in the public proposal, be sure your woman would love it. I know of some ladies who do not love the open proposal, well, I personally don't, LOL.

Let me share a few ideas to you who is yet to propose and hoping that Papa Ginika (my soon-to-be-husband, wherever he is) is also reading this *smiles*

Feel free to share yours if you've proposed already or have some ideas.

1) Choose a favourite place that has personal significance to the two of you.

2) Have a choir of may be her church or any or a group of beautiful singers or just may be an artiste she loves show up for a surprise performance at her house (you must have arranged this with her family members)
3) Go for a sit out and ask the DJ or the live band to pass the MIC so you can dedicate a song and propose.
4) Take out a full page Ad in a newspaper and put it out there or call into a radio station and make sure she's listening when your proposal is on air.
5) You can do it on a flight (plan with the flight attendants)
6) Involve selected friends and family and have everyone carry papers with the phrase: "will you marry me?"

7) You can cook a five star worthy meal of her favourite foods or hire a good cook, then propose over desert
8) Create a web page declaring your love and proposal, send the web address to her
9) Put together a gift basket of chocolates and fresh fruits and hide the ring among the presents
10) Ask a baker to make a custom cake with the proposal written on it
11) With the help of her co-workers, schedule a last minute meeting toward the end of the day, then whisk her away with your proposal.

I drop my golden pen here. #Hehe. Oh, congrats to all those walking down the aisle, God bless your union.

Heyyy Gurls.....Still on the series of decorating your room for your wedding night.

More tips here:  Ladies make sure you have new lingerie for that night, most brides still think *white* is the in-thing but you could try on other colors like red, lilac, pink and other attractive colors. Nothing is wrong with white but guys would always want you to be creative.

Don't overlook the use of candles and scented ones at that, they give your room the alluring presence that you want.

Also, cool music at the background is not a bad idea, this sets up a good tone. I love me some Maxwell anyday, you can try that.

One thing you should not forget to do is *don't go to bed with bad breath, brush your teeth well and enjoy your first kiss. If that is really your first kiss.*winks*. More on this series.

ARE YOU SEARCHING FOR A JOB OR ARE YOU WAITING FOR ONE? by Cyril Onurisi

After I finished my tertiary education and National Service, like everybody else, I started seeking for a job, at least to the best of my knowledge. But two years passed and I couldn’t achieve my objectives so, although reluctantly, I went for my postgraduate studies at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

In 2012, I was in my room one particular morning and I got a hold of an article in Forbes magazine. It was a story of a graduate and job seeker in the United States. That was during the economic recession when people were losing their jobs in the thousands, companies and businesses locking shops and offices, infact, finding new jobs were up-hill battle. This guy in the story was determined to get a job anyhow, he refused to consider or be deterred by the economic hardship at the time. He said that to achieve his aim, he made decisions, among many was to apply for thirty five (35) jobs every day until he got one.
There and then I asked myself, how many jobs did I actually apply for (in total) in the two years I said I was ‘looking’ for a job? My answer to that question was a disgrace! But that was the turning point to my approach to seeking and getting employment.

Meet the creative hands......Miss Nele

Meet Oziengbe Eromonele Henrietta who hails from Ekpoma in Edo State. A graduate of microbiology from the prestigious,Madonna University. She took interest in make-up and had her training from the House of Tara.

Her inspiration stems from the room of creativity involved in make-up as an art. She believes the future prospects are very enormous and bright as future creativity may tend towards full integration of the societal traditional methods with modern methods to achieve a unique growth.

Look no further, if you need a touch of class, elegance and may be a little drama face, holla at Make up by Nele.

LOW SELF ESTEEM by Gift Jonah

Self esteem or self image is a picture that you have of yourself. Many factors contributes to a person having low self image. For some it comes natural and genuine while for others, some factors are responsible for it. Factors like abuse at tender age, domestic violence between parent, past failures, bullies, shyness, fear, illiteracy etc. Low self esteem make you have a critical and judgmental view of others.
Research has found that people with genuine low self image tends to treat themselves badly not others.
Just like attitude can not be hidden, low self esteem can easily be detected when you are around a person with it. Today, i will share few characteristics of low self image.

A pessimistic outlook of life : Low self image makes one to be pessimistic. Unconsciously, you forget to be grateful for what you have but grab any opportunity to complain about what they don’t have. You are always looking for cracks in the mirror of life.

Self consciousness : Low esteem always make you feel you are poorly dressed for any occasion or you are the lease educated or less attractive.. Etc. All this contribute to make you want to hide behind your shadow so no one sees or interact with you. It makes you lack confidence in your social skills and abilities for fear of failure.

Defensive in conversation : When you see someone who always want to win an argument or who is quick to be on the defensive side or someone who always want his/her voice to be heard then you are looking at someone with low esteem. They always feel the need to talk or feel better than others. Depending on the conversation, they either talk more and listen less or talk less and listen more.

Developing clinging relationship : So you feel wanted and important, you start to develop clinging friendship or relationship with people who don’t even remember you exist or appreciate your company. Creating the impression like you have a good number of VIP or VVIP on your connect when in reality those people don’t know your name or have your contact. Like seriously..... Who are you hoping to impress with your fake life?

Inability to accept praise : Have you noticed that people with low esteem don’t like complement? They feel you are indirectly insulting them. Being a mindset thing, it makes it difficult to accept praise when it comes because your low esteem tells you they are lying to you. In fact you reject the complement even before they come. Lol.

A strong force (voltron)

Creating a team is one thing, having the best players to make up a team is another. At work, we sometimes have difficulties pairing with people to carry out a responsibility or a project, truth is, it is easier to put more than a head to achieve great results. Team work is a strong force that comprises of few people, to carry out a project, for ease, accuracy, Time management and efficient result. A team should have different people with vast knowledge. Same should be found in different units in churches, to make things move fast.

And in entertainment, there are record labels that have been able to stand tall, Rock Town Records which is owned by the great man-Frank Edwards, has been able to bring in young talents to work as a voltron, the basically complement each other. A record label where all are trained not just to sing or minister, but are trained to learn the business of music, production, an instrument and also put to enjoy the God giving life as a christian baller. Rock Town has: Frank Edwards, Giljoe, Nkay, blizbitzz, Divine Ukaogu, David, Aunty Dara, Sophiya and King Bas. In their different ways and different music style, they are all attached like strings. There's just more than a lot going on for these guys. That's a force. That's teamwork. That's a complete voltron.
And for the movies, there's always a production team, it's all team work.

Kudos to a young movie director who has in no time paved his way through, with the start of his feature movie earlier this year and two new ones completed, yet to be released with few others on going. Sobe Charles has got a good team that makes it so easy for production and casting to move effortlessly. Teamwork.

Some people want to be cheered, they want the glory, they want the whole cut/share just so they have no reason to work with people.

Have the team spirit. Be a part of a voltron,LOL.

SHORT PIECE TO GUIDE YOU

The solution you need is around you, you need to trust me on this. Hope your Monday wasn't so bad? Shake it off lovelies, it's a new day-Tuesday, it promises to better than yesterday okay?
I had a chat with a friend on Sunday and he said, we look for solutions in far places ignoring the people around us, ignoring the immediate environment that can give us the right solutions we need. You have a well of water and you're not aware and so can't benefit from it.

The good book has a teaching on this in Genesis 16: 10-12.
We easily forget the promises of God, when our present experiences seem to contradict them. We need to stop focusing on our problems and learn to gaze on God who will open our eyes, help clear our vision from all hindrances and direct the eyes of our minds to the solutions we seek. Start little, explore your immediate environment and people around you.

I pray we turn to God to show us the solution around us.

Fruitful day lovelies.

Hi Ladies, its another day for 'Me, Myself and My Hair'
We got very conversant with the DC(Deep Conditioning) last week as another aspect of the Hair Regimen.
DC as I said, moisturizes the hair( and restores lost keratin)..but moisturizing is really not the issue, retaining moisture is. That's why this week, we are going to discuss the LOC

LOC(Liquid, Oil and Cream)
This process not only retains moisture but reduces hair breakage a great deal.
The process is real easy, all it takes is this;
1)Spray your spritz mix unto your kink, curl or coil
2)Apply oil of your choice(extra virgin olive oil e.t.c)
3)Apply shea butter/ shea mix/ any suitable natural hair cream to your hair.
REASONS
1)Your spritz mix is your liquid and basically moisturizes.
2)Your oil opens your pores(on your scalp) to accept the moisture.
3)Your cream prevents rapid evaporation of the moisture before total absorption.

The LOC steps can be shuffled to be an LCO but it remains the same.
The LOC/ LCO can be done at night or during the day which brings me to the night time routine

NIGHT TIME ROUTINE
This mainly involve sleeping with a satin bonnet to keep in moisture. Naturalistas are advised to use satin pillow cases to avoid other materials soaking in the moisture from their hair.
If the LOC/LCO is done at night, the hair should still be covered afterwards. When you're ready to style to the morning you'll find it a whole easier manipulating your hair in different styles

NOTE:
1)Spritz mix=80%water and 20%oil of your choice
2)Shea mix consists of shea butter and one or two oils you choose to mix in( my shea mix contains shea butter, olive oil and aloe vera gel..thinking of putting in coconut oil too)

Have a lovely Hairweek Ladies.

Friends turned Fam

There are friends, there are family and there are friends that become family.

Each day I am thankful for nights turned into day, likes that turned into family. Some people come into our lives to make a difference, to help, to care and to love us. They inconvenience themselves to see smiles on the faces of those they love. I have met good friends, friends who have gone an extra extra mile, friends who believe in me, friends who constantly encourage me, friends who love me just the way they love themselves, friends who ignores my imperfection, look me in the eye and correct me. I may never have had the opportunity to say thank you but I intend to do that now. And of course to my sisi, Sophie Obamogie, who has been my best friend for ten years, I have been stubborn, strong headed, annoying, and troublesome, but she has stood by me and still stands strong for me.  I love her now and always.
A little write up to all my friends:
Friends can make you laugh like no one else.
I thank you for being there for me.
I thank you for being you.
I thank God for creating you.

You've been a gift to me.
You've made my life so much fun.
I couldn't have asked for any other.
I thank God for creating you.

A true friend is the greatest of all blessings.
You've spoken in words my heart understands.
You've been there when I needed you and when I pretended to be fine.
I thank God for creating you.

God bless you now.
God bless you today, tomorrow.
God bless you always.
I thank God for creating you.

I love all my friends.

The good spirit of giving....

Happy Sunday Fam. Take your time to read through.

A new week has come upon us ladies and gentlemen *smiles. Hope it has been restful tho. I need to share a sister's testimony with y'all, so you know there is a blessing that comes with giving. So many people always want to get, get and keep getting, they just would never give,Never. They forget that even the good book talked about giving, sharing all you have, the good samaritan.

A sister shared this: I had a job that was paying less than sixty thousand, I lived far from my work place, I barely survived, I had siblings to assist, parents to assist too and of course few friends who merely understood that I had a lot of responsibilities with very little, but I still had to give a helping hand, no matter how little. My job wasn't the best of the jobs, but I persevered, starved myself of a lot of goodies, applied for jobs, talked to people and prayed it came through. Then, on one of the days I was just calculating my money, 'cos I had my boss' friend visit the office and handed me an envelope, just when I was about to share and pay in some into my account and get myself a pair of shoes, a jean and a loose top I saw on my way home the previous day, a call came through and it was my very good friend, from her tone, I figured, something was up, so I asked what was wrong, and she told me of an interview slated for the next day which she had to attend, apparently she got the text few minutes before she called me, she was so full of tears and needed some amount to get herself a pair of shoe because she had none that was presentable, kai, at that point I was caught between, Yes I'll send to your account now or No, I don't have. With a long sigh, I asked for her account number, dashed out of the office immediately and paid it in, it was almost 4pm at the time. When I paid in, I was happy I did, she called and thanked me, few hours later, Mummy P as I call her mum, called and rained blessings on me. And that was it o. A week later, I got a mail from a company I applied to, months ago, and was invited for an interview. I prayed and went for it, unlike other companies where I have to write series of tests, face different interviews, it was different, I got in, was ushered into an office, I merely introduced myself when someone cut me in and asked my philosophy of life and I simply said: "give all without resentment and receive blessings in abundance".......and that was it. People talk about miracles, when they tell me how things turned around for them, it sounds a bit shady but with mine I can proudly tell you that Miracles do happen, in its "odd" form. I have a good job, with good satisfaction, oh yea plus I don't have to calculate my salary and starve (you know what that means right?). Before I forget, my friend got the job too. Blessings upon blessings. Patience does it all. Generosity can be a blessing in disguise. Kindness is divine. Give and you shall receive in abundance", and that's my testimony.
