The other Friday....#GoneGrey Tour

It was a beautiful day at City Fm, 105.1FM talking Gone Grey, it felt good being on the other side, having someone interview me. Great time out with Viva, the beautiful Tamara Eteimo, and Director-Sobe Charles Umeh (the gangster hands).

We took the fun out of the studio then to the beauty home #hehe, Tamara should understand this more, then to the cinema to see a certain movie but MBA, Joseph Benjamin with his marketing tongue was able to drag us to see the beautiful movie "Affairs off the heart", starring: Stella Damascus, Joseph Benjamin, Beverly Naya and a host of them. We had to support our own na *in Tamara's voice*.
More tour in the coming weeks while I prepare for my final exams as an MSC student, God help me, for every time I remember I have a big prize waiting for me if I do very well in my exams, I feel extremely gingered to read, lol.

Special thanks to those who have been supporting this movement #GoneGrey. Buy tickets ooo, for your friends, frenemies and loved ones

Timibracelet's Special Gift

A freshers' night put together at the federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State last Friday night was lit not just because of the performances by the The Viper and Ola Dips but it was also a memorable one for one of the students who happens to be an arm candy maker (bracelet).

Days before the event, Timibracelet got in touch with The Viper via Instagram asking him how he
would want his bracelet branded. Surprisingly during his performance, he called up the young entrepreneur on stage and in his words, " I know you weren't expecting this, I have been using this but this should serve"....

Memorable one for Timibracelet, as he got his dream watch brand, lol. Kudos to the entrepreneur, more money from the arm candy.

Check out photos from the event:

Health first....

Body no be firewood, one popular African saying that is so true. We work so hard that we never take a break, never remember to breathe.
If we agree that our bodies are not made of wood then let's try this:

1). Do a little exercise when you wake up

2). Drink water

3). Take a walk while at work

4). Drink water

5). Eat: no matter how little, never skip a meal.

6). Drink water

7). Stay happy.

The Clinic with Doc. Izu

We have all told someone this, dude when last did you have a bathe? Or know that person, that makes us cringe whenever they come close because of the way they smell.

Body odour is an often overlooked condition , medically known as bromhidrosis ,it is seen in post pubertal individuals ,its a chronic condition where excessive unpleasant odour emanates from the skin. It becomes pathologic if it becomes overpowering or affects the individuals daily activities.

Body odour is related the sweating and proliferation of bacteria present on the skin , the skin contains many sweat glands and these are spread all over the body especially the scalp,ears, armpits,breasts,genitals,anus and the feet. Two main glands the eccrine glands and apocrine glands are responsible for production of sweat and pheromones which is subtly responsible for the level of attractiveness we find in a person. Excessive sweating becomes malodorous when bacteria on the skin breaks down sweat to ammonia and butyric acids ,with their strong odours ,this is the main cause of bromhidrosis {that person whose smell drives you far might be innocent }

Causes of bromhidrosis include:

1. excessive sweating

2. obesity

3. alcohol intake

4. intake of spicy foods {garlic,onions,curry etc }

5. medical conditions {diabetes, skin infections ,hair shaft infections, hyperthyroidism etc

6.lack of proper personal hygiene

7.smoking

8.wearing wrong clothing{ unbreatheable fabrics}

9.sex {males are known to have a stronger odour due to testosterone production}

10. Genetics{ if your mother has B.O do not be surprised if you find yourself battling with this.

Africans and caucasians whose body features are adapted to the warm climate sweat more unlike the asians who are adapted to the cold climate and are more predisposed to having body odour.

 For those experiencing this condition the following are recommended:

1. Shaving the armpits and keeping body hair trim

2. Wearing natural made fabrics {breathe able fabrics like cotton,silk and cotton}

3. Shower at least once daily and more on hot days

4. Use of anti-perspirants containing aluminium chloride I recommend rexonna

5. Use of anti-bacterial soaps especially for the armpits

6. Abstinence from alcohol,cigarette, spicy foods,caffeine

7. Exercise regularly

8. Regular check up with your doctor for underlying illnesses{ certain illnesses come with specific smells eg fruity smell in diabetics and bleach smell in liver disease patients}

9. Use of botulinium toxin { see your doctor about this}

Surgical interventions available for people who sweat excessively include Laser hair removal and waxing .

I hope this helps someone out there , please feel free to add your own tips in the comment section .

Choose happiness...

Happiness/ Peace of mind/ Joy/ Sanity- these are achievable. Some people alllow themselves to be controlled by others, you stay unhappy, restless, bothered because you have tied yourself around someone who derives pleasure in controlling you, someone who wants you to be happy at his/her own discretion. I call that being in PRISON and you being UNFAIR to yourself.

Choose to be happy, own yourself, loose yourself, do what makes you happy, do what your conscience allows you, forgive yourself, forgive the nest person, keep smiling, take coca cola *smiles*. Whether in a relationship or not, never trade your happiness for anything. Attract people with the happiness that radiates in you.

Check out photos from the wedding anniversary I attended over the weekend:

P.S: Hey Fam, tickets for my first movie- GONE GREY is out, send a direct message to get your ticket and support a sister,lol. Thank you plenty.
Productive week people. #GoneGREY

No one gives up....

No matter how stormy it gets, no matter how frustrating the day gets, no matter how dry it gets, no matter how tough, no matter the disappointment, we can still start all over again. If you can read this, it means you're alive and there's hope for tomorrow. Don't give up. The world has renowned scientists, doctors, teachers, super stars, people who make impact in our lives, have you heard their stories? Have you read about them?

You know that saying, "ROME WASN'T BUILT IN A DAY?", it is one of the truest line ever. Many of the people we celebrate today were once like you, me, us. They had it rough, they had a thousand disappointments, heartbreaks, but it never stopped them.

Take up every day as a challenge, decide on what you want. Are you quick to chicken out at every fall? Then you need to ask yourself lots off questions. Do you want to make it? What is your purpose? Where are you headed? What do you want to achieve? You are the master of yoursellf, you can control a lot of things that happen around you. Make a decision. Take a stand. No one said it will be easy, I won't lie to you that I have the answers but I know satying focused and trusting God is one of the surest ways ever to keep you going.

You may want to try this. No one gives up and expects to be a multi millionaire, no one gives up and wants to make a statement,NO.

I Love You!

I want to stay alone, I want the quiet place, I want to think, I want to remember those special moments, I want to cry over the pain, the hurt, the disappointments, the fear. I want to gaze into thin air, I want to look into the mirror, talk to myself, smile, laugh and cry again.

I once loved and now I am at it again, twice have I loved and now in full swing, with daily happiness, not sure I'm dreaming, I'm loving every single day, what would people say? Do I care? It's about my happiness. I want to wake up each day not regretting a thing, not angry, not cursing. I know, I'm certain I am with the right person. I feel the whole zoo in my belly, this has got to be real, this has got to be the last busstop, right? YES.

I have searched far and wide, I have met a few. I have experimented, I am tired, my patience, my precious time. I think I found me my PRINCE. I want to be with him I want to share those moments. I want to be happy with him, I want to gaze at his picture when he is not there. I want to brag about someone to genuine friends. I want to be on the other side of the phone with a flattery face, with a puppy face. I want to say YES to the question. I want tohave a bulge infront of me, with his offspring. I can. We can. I want to say "I LOVE YOU".

Being Single by Yinka

When you are single, sometimes you can grow impatient while waiting on the right one. You'll start wondering if something is wrong with you. You'll start to wonder  if you will ever have your happy ever after. You'll start wondering if you are being punished for something you did because your last few relationships didn't work out. You'll start thinking about all these negative things that really do nothing to support your outlook on love in a positive way. The truth is, life does not have it out for you. Sometimes it just takes some of us a little longer to find our other half. Stop letting your present circumstances give you such a negative outlook. Stop using your past to gauge whether or not true love will ever walk into your life. Your past and your future have no business being in the same place together. You will never see who you have coming if you are always looking back at who you no longer need. You have a beautiful chapter awaiting to be written with someone great in the near future.

Keep your faith, your positive outlook and your good heart all in alignment because your other half is coming.

International women's day

International Women’s Day is a time to reflect on progress made, to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities.
The 2016 theme for International Women’s Day is “Planet 50-50 by 2030: Step It Up for Gender Equality”
The idea of this theme is to consider how to accelerate the 2030 Agenda, building momentum for the effective implementation of the new Sustainable Development Goals, especially goal number 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls; and number 4: Ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning. The theme will also focus on new commitments under UN Women’s Step It Up initiative, and other existing commitments on gender equality, women’s empowerment and women’s human rights.
Some key targets of the 2030 Agenda:
  • By 2030, ensure that all girls and boys complete free, equitable and quality primary and secondary education leading to relevant and Goal-4 effective learning outcomes.
  • By 2030, ensure that all girls and boys have access to quality early childhood development, care and preprimary education so that they are ready for primary education.
  • End all forms of discrimination against all women and girls everywhere.
  • Eliminate all forms of violence against all women and girls in the public and private spheres, including trafficking and sexual and other types of exploitation.
  • Eliminate all harmful practices, such as child, early and forced marriage and female genital mutilation.

Does my vagina smell healthy?

Before we proceed, let's get one thing straight.. YOUR VAGINA HAS A SCENT.,  if it's a healthy scent or unusual odor is left for you and your partner to decide.
Ignore what the beauty companies, your friends who try to sell you one cosmetic or family members tell you, you don't need all those scented soaps, vaginal sprays and all sorts...
A healthy vagina emits different scents throughout the month varying with different parts of the menstrual cycle from a strong musky scent to subtle hardly noticeable scents,  also women who sweat alot or have unprotected sex tend to have stronger scents than others,  moreover every woman has her own unique scent ( have you ever heard a woman say I smelt another woman on him,  ehen you get my drift now abi).
A healthy lady's "love city", is slightly acidic and this acidic pH is maintained by normal flora of the vagina ( yes your vagina has some bacteria) lacto Bacilli help produce acid that help kill disease causing germs,  also the vagina contains glands that secrete mucus that help flush out foreign bodies or substances that enter the love tunnel,  all these work together to give her a musky smell
that drives men crazy.
Alteration in this normal ecosystem leads to a loss of this defense mechanism and reduction in acidity which leads to proliferation of microbes down there usual culprits in this crime include:

1. Sexually transmitted infections ( yeast  infections, bacterial vaginosis, trichonomiasis,  etc)
2.douching (YES)
3.underlying medical conditions ( diabetes, Hiv, cervical cancer etc)
4.poor personal hygiene
5.end of the menstrual cycle
6.lost / forgotten tampons

Every woman should be aware of her peculiar scents especially if she is sexually active,  no one wants to be embarrassed when everything is going well till the gates of the city is opened.

  HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR VAGINA.
If you engage in unprotected coitus, you should take extra care, ensure to rinse the vagina with regular toilet soap,  (baby soap is recommended )  except you are planning on getting pregnant.
If at anytime u notice a foul smelling discharge, vaginal itching or anything unwholesome around the vagina, do well to visit your gynecologist,  a swab would be taken and sent for analysis,  medications
( don't ask me the names , you have to pay for consultation, #smiles) for a few days or weeks would be prescribed, a vaginal cream or pessary might be prescribed depending on the findings..
Extra care for the vagina would include:

1. Stop douching,  it kills the normal flora and allows the bad guys to flourish.
2. shave regularly, I can't over emphasize this except your mate likes a forest
3. wear cotton undies,  I don't know who started this nylon thight trend,  how do you get fresh air up there.
4.Dont wear tampons longer than necessary.
5. Shower regularly,  especially if you perspirate alot.
6. Use non antiseptic soap, to wash the vagina, ( cussons baby soap is recommended)
7.eat lots of fruits especially water melons and pineapples,  you are what you eat,  and every cunnilugian loves a fruity honey pot
8.exercise the vagina,  do lots of kegel exercises,  it helps tone the vaginal walls and helps keep it healthy
I hope these little tips go a long way to keep the city center clean and healthy..

Yours truly
Dr izu (drop your own tips, or ask questions, you don't know who might
read this)‎.

The beautiful Tribeless Group

I had the opportunity to speak with quite a number of young talents, ranging from actors to singers to stylists, it was so much fun. I remain thankful to Reshayo for supporting the Clarexpressions brand from day one. It was a day to remember as I talked about "monetizing your talent as an artiste". It was an educative and entertaining one.
I had so much fun interacting with these great minds, nothing as good as associating yourself with the right team. I totally enjoyed it.

Check out pictures from the Tribeless Training.

P.s: thanks to all who has supported me from day one. God bless you. The premiere of Gone Grey (my first movie) will hold on the 17th of April 2016, at the Film House, Surulere. Send me a mail to get your tickets.

Some guys sha.....

Annoying day it was for me today. Not so sure if I like the Remita System, okay may be it's good, yes I get the whole concept- trace our money, be able to monitor where it goes to, yes I get it. But there should be better ways to improve it bikonu. Spent the whole day trying to get a Remita Retrieval Reference number for Corporate Affairs and at the end a simple mistake made couldn't be corrected and I have to pay for it.

While waiting for my turn in that very long queue, I overheard a young man's conversation, apparently he was talking to bae. The good thing about this long wait was the cool temperature in the banking hall so at some point I forgot I stood for more than 45 minutes. Well back to uncle lover boy, so uncle started with the regular, "what's up bae, I'm in the bank", that to me wasn't a problem‎ o until uncle said "bae, I told you I was going out with Chike and the crew, hmm, those guys eh, they all came with some girls even Muyiwa who is newly married o, hmm, they kept on asking me what's up with me cos I was the only one without a babe, baby you see your boy is good o, I did not even look at the other girl's friend who kept on throwing herself on me, baby I'm good o forget, if you see what my guys were doing, baby even that Funke in my office, I told you bout her, she is still doing her own there but abeg, so you see bae, I'm a good boy o, I have tried sha, since we started dating I've been......". Nawa, I just feel it wasn't necessary knowing he was in a public zone, I also hate when a guy tries to make a lady feel she should hold on to him because he hass been good, *hisses* abeg, we also
have some ladies who keep themselves for you men and don't preach the Gospel of hold me tight less you loose me. I just hate to hear the "there are so many girls here, 2 girls have been eyeing me here, I am doing this because of you, oh please uncle, you're making it too obvious that it is a struggle for you. I remember when a friend celebrated one year of faithfulness that he never slept with another girl, he only would kiss and touch bori, dude!!! Fear God na. I feel some of these guys who rush to claim innocence are those who get involved every second. World pipu, nawa, I have had different experiences that I fear a lot of "supposed" genuine talks from our uncles. God help us sha.

Biko do what is right and if you can't, do the wrong thing, get on with life, mess up. It's your choice at the end of the day. ‎ Good night Fam.

Gone Grey, The Movie...

Amidst the tight schedules and preparing for my last semester as an M.Sc student, my first movie- Gone Grey is almost out of the oven, just a little time and we are good to go. I love my poster, I am yet to officially release it, tickets are almost ready, hopefully by tomorrow, *Yipee*, it's been a good year for me. I remember when I thought it would be a bad year just in January, but NEVER, it became brand new for me. He turned the captivity of Clare and I was like those that dreamed, Praise God. #laughs.

So Fam, the premiere will be in April, I should give a date by today or tomorrow once I can put everything in place by today. I'm super excited about this project.
In the meantime I designed a mug and a tee shirt for Gone Grey. I hope you like them though.

May God bless the work of our hands and may Our work have value. Shout out to sombori I know that ‎won a cheque yesterday, hardwork pays indeed.

Special shout out to the hardworking bebes and bobos. God bless you big.‎

A good opportunity with the Tribeless Group

So I got a shot as a guest speaker with the Tribeless group. A group of young talented artistes, ranging from actors to singers, a lot of talented young stars. I will be speaking on the topic ; "How to monetize your talent as an artiste".

I have always wanted the opportunity to talk to a group of young talents. I remember my work experience in Enugu State where I met with a lot of young stars who needed to promote their songs and i'd always ask them, how do you intend to sell your brand", but they'd always say "Aunty Clare, we just want to promote first". You find out that how clueless they are, you find out they don't much about putting their work to value. God has given each of us the talents we can handle, it's left for us to work towards making it a success.

I have been researching on this to make sure I equip them with the best knowledge. First, i'll love to engage them by asking if the want to make money from their talents? Ask how they would want to achieve it. Then let them know the steps to making money from their talents/gifts. Well, if you've got a good talent and you have no need to make money out of it, why don't you make money and give out to some one who wants his/her dreams fulfilled.

Have you ever heard the saying: " find what you love doing, and get paid for it"?

I look forward to meeting and interacting with these young ones tomorrow, 5th of March, Yaba. My little contribution to our society. Big thanks to Reshayo, for believing in my brand. ‎

Being Mrs. Right

We almost forget that as much as we want our Mr. Right, he also wants to find Mrs. Right. Who doesn't want a good wife or companion biko, well I'm talking to the "men". Gone are the days when they wanted just big booty, big boobs, fine face, long hair and a girl whose steps make a statement, oh please....all na wash. Now the men, go through close friends or family or colleagues to get the exact specification they need. In their words, I need a lady who will not give me wahala, a lady who is prayerful and can take care of my children".....and even more wishes. While we crave for a tall, dark and hands some, but you know, can pray, thry crave for even more, they want to go as far as finding out how our mothers treated or are still treating our fathers, they do more of the underground check than we do. Many of us (ladies) just need a man who would feel up the emptiness and do not consider this is a lifetime bond. You don't want to wake up a year later, stare at him and wonder why you did not go for Michael.

There's a lot we need to be conscious of, our character, our approach to life, our tolerance and patience level, our ability to take care of situations, our strength in prayers and in things that concerns God, etc.

Being Mrs. Right shouldn't cause anything stress, it should be a constant mental preparation to a happy life. No one is perfect, yes we totally agree, but as such, every one can work towards perfection.

I am Papa Ginika's Mrs. Right, lol. I also hope you're his Mrs. Right. ‎

What you should know by Yinka

I know starting over can be scary. For some of us, closing unhealthy chapters with certain people can be quite of a challenge. But my question to you is, what is having peace of mind worth to you? Keeping yourself unnecessarily attached to drama is not good for you. Entertaining someone day in and day out who isn't committed to your growth and happiness will eventually drain you. There is a whole world out there waiting for you to make beautiful memories in. Today, start taking steps towards regaining your happiness again. Start making plans to cut ties with people who aren't helpful with guiding you towards becoming a greater human being. Sometimes the only reason why your situation hasn't changed in a positive way is because you have not changed the negative people that you keep yourself around.

Ladies we love it when you speak life into us. We love it when you can speak encouraging words into us because it helps us grow into becoming greater men. Your words help plant seeds of greatest inside of your man. That is one of the reasons why the right woman in the right man's life will always carry a special kind of significance. Her love can inspire the greatest things inside of him. He can become a lot more confident. He can become a lot more focused and driven towards his dreams. He can keep himself motivated with his goals for longer periods of time just behind the goodness of her love and her words. Ladies you have an unbelievable amount of influence in your man's life. The more you speak into us, the greater we end up becoming.
