Checking in.....

Hey people, how are you all doing? It's Thursday already oooo countdown to the most amazing "Friday". So I have been writing my Msc exams, should be through by Saturday, can't wait. Met lots of people, interesting ones at that, from managers to safety officers, to the amazing-Timi Tuns #hehe, Yinka the ever busy guy and a host of them,it's been really amazing.
Ehen I thought to share this, for about a week, I've been having this cough and my mum the "house doctor" says i need to chew bitter leaf "onugbu" as we call it in Ibo land. Well initially I bluntly refused, because I just couldn't chew something as bitter as that and secondly did not believe it would stop the cough. For every time I sneezed or coughed,we go through the same story of "you're stubborn, go and pluck the leaf and chew". Reluctantly, I decided to adhere to her instruction and so I did, spent every second I chewed it, screaming and squeezing my face, morning-afternoon, that was the dosage, lol. Two days after I started, I realized I wasn't coughing again, bitter leaf wasn't so bitter again, I would send my younger sister to go pluck it for me, salt-wash and chew.

I had to read up the benefits of bitter leaf and I realized it does a lot of good to us. Initially you may refuse it because of its taste but when you think of its benefits, you may have a rethink. You can also squeeze the leaf to bring out the liquid. It contains nutrients like proteins, fiber, iron, ascorbic acid, etc.
Thank me later for this. Special thanks to my mum too.

P.S: If you've got any story or experience you want to share, or you know of someone who does extra ordinary stuff and needs to be celebrated, please do well and send to: clare.ezeh@gmail.com
